East Wemyss Primary and Nursery receive their Digital Schools Award

Thursday, March 30, 2023

East Wemyss Primary and Nursery is delighted to share that, following a successful validation visit, we have received the Digital Schools Award.

During our virtual visit, it was noted that we have a strong commitment to ensuring that children’s digital experiences are a priority. Teachers spoke with enthusiasm about the impact and benefits that their increased use of digital technology was bringing to their teaching and to pupils’ learning and progress.

Our P6 and P7 Digital Leaders were highlighted in our report for acting as good digital role models. They could clearly state how they are having an impact on developing skills and knowledge within East Wemyss, as well as recognising the impact for themselves in improving their confidence and developing leadership skills.

Staff spoke enthusiastically of the benefit of engaging in CPD and how colleagues supported each other and shared expertise. Many staff shared their significant professional learning journeys and spoke about how their confidence had grown to ensure their teaching was more engaging for their learners. The Nursery Team shared the impact that their CPD development had on their ability to provide a more responsive experience for children with the use of Beebots, Seesaw and i-Pads. The report highlights a strong culture of a school learning together, with a recognition that children can be leaders of learning.

We are really proud to be recognised as a Digital School and will strive to continue to develop our use of technology to ensure that we are providing learning of the highest quality for our children.

Kindest regards
Mrs Filsell
